The Bucktown Neighborhood
in Chicago

Over the past thirty years Bucktown has experienced a renaissance of sorts. In the 1980s, many artists moved to the area in search of cheap rent and small independent galleries where they could show their art. The famous Around the Coyote Festival and Bucktown Arts Fest were both established during this time. These festivals were created in an effort to promote and strengthen the local art community and to provide a showcase of the neighborhood's best artistic talent. The events continue to grow and draw more and more people to the neighborhood every year.

Through it all, Bucktown has remained a residential neighborhood that is convenient to public transportation and the expressway, with many great restaurants and nightspots all within walking distance of any corner of the community.
